The aim of the course is to acquire sufficient knowledge and deepen the understanding of the subject of social mobility, viewed from the perspective of social policy.
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
Have acquired sufficient knowledge and skills to critically engage with the fundamental mechanisms of intergenerational social mobility.
Be familiar with the discourse regarding the connection between intergenerational social mobility and equality of opportunity.
Possess the ability to collect, assess, and interpret data from various sources in order to analyze issues related to the intergenerational transmission of resources and status from a comparative perspective. They should also have developed the ability to conduct independent research work.
Synthesize interpretations and viewpoints, and develop systematic, critically oriented arguments supported by adequate empirical evidence.
Produce written work that meets the standards of academic writing (in terms of structure, analysis, substantiation, as well as the presentation of empirical data and bibliographic references).
