Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:
• Know basic concepts of the science of Sociology of Education, such as institution, explicit and implicit functions of the institution of education, etc.
• Approach social values that characterize modern educational systems in an analytical and at the same time critical manner, such as the principle of equality in education.
• Know a) the main modern theoretical approaches (functional, Marxist theory, interaction theory).
• Recognize the main characteristics of a teaching intervention that can facilitate the approach of basic concepts of Sociology of Education.
• Know the processes of planning, selecting methodological tools and conducting research.
• Have completed individual work in which they have utilized the capabilities of modern technology.
• Understand the role of the teacher in the development of scientific thinking by students.
• Understand the role of the teacher in developing collaborative relationships with social groups of colleagues, students’ families, and representatives of educational, community and state agencies.
• Understand social needs (and in particular educational needs) and be able to carry out on-site research and quantitative or qualitative analysis of data.
• Recognize, select and implement procedures for evaluating students’ learning achievements, taking into account the social environment (economic, cultural, network of social interactions) from which they come.
